๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ Making Waves: How Pop-Up Pools Are Growing the Swimming Workforce & Expanding Access.

Pop-up swimming pools are changing the way we teach swimming across the UK and and not just for the children learning to swim. These portable, warm-water pools are helping close the gap in swimming instruction, access to water, and even employment in aquatic education.

๐ŸŒ Breaking Down Barriers to Pool Access

For many schools and families, regular access to a swimming pool is limited or non-existent. Whether due to location, cost, or availability, traditional pools are often out of reach.

Pop-up pools offer a game-changing solution: We bring our pool directly to schools or local venues, no buses, no long waitlists, no stress.

This means:

  • More frequent and consistent lessons

  • Higher participation from all pupils

  • Improved water confidence in less time

By reducing travel and logistical challenges, children are swimming sooner, more often, and with better results.

๐Ÿ Beyond Swimming Lessons: How We Make the Most of Our Pool

At the beginning of SwimInSchools we had one pool at one school offering group swimming lessons. Now fast forward today we have made sure everyone can make full use of the pool, we want it accessible for everyone. Not only do we offer swimming lessons in term time but our pool is open in half-terms, so children that do not attend that school can still learn to swim with us.

Our other pool facilities are:

Pool Parties๐ŸŽŠ

One-to-ones๐ŸŸ

Water sports (waterpolo & water volleyball)๐Ÿ

The number of our pools has grown as well, at this moment we currently have 3 pools operating at 3 different schools!

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ Creating Opportunities for Swimming Teachers

Itโ€™s not just learners who benefit. Our Pop-up pools are opening doors for swimming instructors as well.

Here's how:

  • More flexible work options- seasonal, part-time, or during school hours

  • Ideal teaching conditions- small groups, warm water, local settings

  • A nurturing environment for new instructors to gain confidence

  • Opportunities for local employment and career progression

As the demand for school-based swimming rises and the growth of SwimInSchools being in more schools, Today 2025 we now have 8 swimming instructors!
